STEPHENVILLE (March 27, 2015) — Upon returning to campus from their 2015 NCAA Division II Final Four appearance, fans of the Tarleton State University Texan basketball team are invited to Wisdom Gym on Monday, March 30, for a 4 p.m. “Welcome Home” celebration.

The Texans, who completed their 2014-2015 season with a school-record 31 wins and advanced to this year’s NCAA Final Four after winning the Lone Star Conference championship and NCAA South Central Region Tournament championship, will join their faithful Texan Nation fans to celebrate a historic run to the national tournament.

“What a wonderful, record-setting season our men’s basketball team provided for all of us,” said President F. Dominic Dottavio. “It’s time we celebrate their success!”

Members of the Tarleton community and general public are invited to attend this celebration, which will include the university’s basketball band Foul Play and the Texan Cheerleaders, and addresses by Coach Reisman and President Dottavio as the purple and white welcome the team back to Wisdom Gym one final time this season and salute the achievements of the 2015 national semifinalist squad.

“From winning the Lone Star Conference Championship, to hosting the regional championship and hanging on for a dramatic South Central Region championship victory, this Texan team showed leadership and teamwork,” said Dottavio. “Advancing to the NCAA Elite Eight and winning the first game in the tournament at Evansville demonstrated commitment and excellence.”

This year marks only the second time in program history a Texan team has reached the Final Four, and one the university plans to recognize and take pride in, said Dottavio. “Let’s give our Texans a rousing demonstration of our appreciation. I hope to see all of you there!”
