STEPHENVILLE (March 30, 2015) — The Stephenville Historical House Museum will host its Native and Heirloom Plant Fair on Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the museum grounds, 525 E. Washington St., Stephenville.

The Native and Heirloom Plant Fair welcomes vendors from the surrounding area and features native and adapted plants, herbs and arts and crafts. This event, which is free to the public, offers visitors the opportunity to support local growers and crafts people all while perusing the museum grounds. More than 500 people attend the event each year.

“Many vendors will be offering attractive, drought-tolerant plants that are native to Texas or adapted to the area,” said event organizer Russell Pfau. “Incorporating these plants into your landscape is a great way to ‘drought-proof’ your landscape.  The museum grounds itself serves as a demonstration for how you can incorporate native Texas plants into your own landscape.”

This year’s plant fair offers something for the entire family. The kids will enjoy visiting Roger the turken rooster, along with his poultry friends, and petting giant, gentle bunnies. The Stephenville Historical House Museum invites you to spend part of your Saturday at this year’s event.  A complete list of vendors is located on the museum’s website at www.stephenvillemuseum.org/.

The mission of the Stephenville Historical House Museum is to collect, preserve, interpret, and maintain historical buildings and educational exhibits representing the cultural heritage and history of Erath County and the Cross Timbers region consisting of Erath County and surrounding counties.
