STEPHENVILLE (April 7, 2015) — Silver Taps, an annual observance to honor members of the Tarleton State University family who have died in the past year, will be Thursday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m.

The Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), Tarleton Ambassadors and the Tarleton Alumni Association will host the ceremony at the Hunewell Bandstand in Heritage Oaks Park. The public is invited.

Family and friends of the deceased are invited to attend the ceremony and observe as volunteers, primarily Tarleton students, carry candles to represent those who have passed away. This spring, Silver Taps will honor approximately 200 individuals.

The ceremony ends with the placing of flowers, the playing of Taps and a 21-gun salute.

Volunteers who would like to participate by holding a candle in memory of a member of the Tarleton family may sign up online at:https://tarleton.wufoo.com/forms/silver-taps-volunteer-form/.
