(April 25, 2015) — It appears Brock Holt has cemented his spot as a Major Leaguer.

Early in the 2015 season, in fact, the Stephenville product has looked like an all-star.

Holt hit a 3-run home run in a 7-5 Boston win over Baltimore Friday, his first homer of the season to go with two doubles and 11 singles. Holt has 14 hits and is batting a team-best .424 through 10 games.

Holt has an on-base percentage of .441 and a slugging percentage of .667, leading the Red Sox in both categories while tying for second on the team with eight runs batted in. He is now hitting .281 for his career.

Holt even made ESPN’s SportsCenter with his glove work earlier this week, when he was featured for a diving stop and throw across the diamond for an out at first.

Holt also shined defensively late in Friday’s win, after which Red Sox manager John Farrell complimented him to the media.

“He’s a damn good baseball player,” Farrell said, according to a report by Todd Karpovich at red sox.mlb.com.
