HUCKABAY (May 14, 2015) — Levi Dowell is headed to state, and to begin his journey, he was sent off in true all-state fashion by Huckabay ISD.
Huckabay students lined the sidewalk leading to the main entrance of the Huckabay school building Thursday afternoon, eagerly awaiting the opportunity to cheer on, wave signs at and perhaps even share a little fist bump with their star.
Dowell is the first Huckabay athlete in 18 years to qualify for the UIL Track & Field State Meet and competes in the Class A shot put at 11 a.m. Friday at Mike A. Meyers Stadium in Austin.
