William (Bill) David McDonald was born in Houston, Texas on May 5, 1950. He grew up with a close extended family in West Texas. He played trombone in the marching band and graduated from Permian High School in 1969. He married his best friend, Sheila, on October 15, 1976 and helped raise three daughters, two sons and a granddaughter.

Bill worked for Funeral Directors Life Insurance Company for 20 years and achieved the role of select producer. He loved his job, meeting people from all walks of life. He was well loved at the firms where he worked and enjoyed helping people in need, at times without making a commission. In addition, Bill was an entrepreneur and ventured into a number of businesses throughout his life including horseshoeing and sales. One of his favorite jobs was when he assisted disabled children on a Stephenville ISD school bus, capturing the hearts of the children he helped. He utilized every moment of the day to both care for his family and serve God.
Bill was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1974. He lovingly served as an Elder in the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Stephenville because he wanted to help others. He loved teaching others about the Bible and helping them grow spiritually. He was truly a family man, loved Jehovah, his wife, children and extended family. If you described Bill with one word, it would be that he was a GOOD man.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of almost 39 years, Sheila; sons Joey and Gabe Miles; daughters Robyn Jansen, Kelly Mallette and Amy Porter; brothers and sisters-in-law Jim and Brenda McDonald and Mike and Verna McDonald; his granddaughter Destree and her husband Jordan Seider and other grandchildren and great grandchildren; many cousins, extended family and numerous lifelong friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Jim McDonald; mother, Giene McDonald; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family.
Viewing will be Wednesday and Thursday, August 26-27 at the Stephenville Funeral Home until 8:PM. Memorial services will be officiated by Wayne Jones and held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday, August 29 at 4 PM, located at 4174 US HWY 281 North, Stephenville, TX. 76401. A reception will follow at the banquet room of the Stephenville Funeral Home.
