STEPHENVILLE (September 2, 2015)  – The Tarleton men’s cross country team enters the 2015 season ranked No. 7 in the South Central Region preseason rankings after the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its poll this week.
The Texans finished 10th in last year’s final regional rankings and came in 18th in the regional meet.
The Texans, who are ranked second in the Lone Star Conference preseason poll, return 10 runners including a pair of all-LSC runners, Dylan Willett and Dallas Rushing. Joining the all-conference duo will be a pair of seniors returning off a redshirt season last year—Chase Rathke and Tye Doty.
Tarleton is one of two LSC teams to crack the regional rankings with West Texas A&M coming in fourth. The other eight teams are from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with three-time defending National Champions Adams State at No. 1.
Tarleton’s first meet will be the Ken Garland Invitational in Denton on Sept. 12.
