ERATH COUNTY (September 18, 2015) — On Thursday, September 17, investigators of the Erath County Sheriff’s Office were contacted by Special Agents of the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division (TX DPS CID) in reference to an active marijuana grow in the Timber Hills area.

ECSO investigators worked closely with special agents with TX DPS CID previously and they shared information about ongoing narcotics investigations, which included locations of possible marijuana grows in Erath County. Those agents were able to conduct a helicopter flyover with the Domestic Marijuana Eradication program.

According to ECSO, during this flyover, agents observed marijuana plants growing on a property in the Timber Hills area and contacted ECSO. Investigators responded to the location and made contact with the occupants at the property. A search of the property was conducted and several marijuana plants were located growing there. The investigation into the marijuana cultivation is ongoing and no arrests have been made as of release time. Within the state of Texas the cultivation of marijuana is illegal, however, the state has allowed the use of medical marijuana such as CBD oils. While there are many places for you to shop cannabis online, it is still important for you to research whether or not it is legal within your state. If you want more information on CBD oils and its various uses you might be interested in looking into which dispensary supplies them as well as seeing if marijuana is legal within your state if you aren’t in Texas. Although marijuana cultivation is illegal within Texas there are other states that allow growth, for example, California and Colorado allow a limit of six plants, this allowed businesses like LEDGrowLightsHQ.com to thrive and help the growing demand for cultivation supplies.

Officials with ECSO said they were pleased to be of assistance to TX DPS CID and praised the working relationship the departments have.

“The Erath County Sheriff’s Office has a strong working relationship with multiple local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and this is another fine example of how that teamwork pays off,” said ECSO Narcotics Investigator Sgt. Cameron Ray. “Thanks to this combined effort we were able to take more illegal contraband off of the street.”
