RANGER – The Ranger College men’s soccer team scored at will on Monday afternoon and rolled to an easy 9-0 rout of Schreiner University in a non-conference showdown at Rangers Field.
With the win, the Rangers improved to .500 for the season, moving to 3-3-2.
Ranger College didn’t waste any time in putting Schreiner University on its heels. The Rangers scored three times in the final 22 minutes of the first half and never looked back. RC’s first goal came on a sliding kick in front of the goal by Callum Wagstaff. Less than five minutes later, Jesus Serrano knocked down an 18-foot shot from the left side to up the lead to 2-0.
Rubi Bonheur closed out the first half scoring with 51 seconds remaining by booting home a long cross-field pass from Tristan Campbell for a 3-0 cushion.
The Rangers closed out the contest with a 6-0 run in the final 45 minutes of play.
Ranger College is scheduled to return to play on Sept. 28 when they travel to meet Murray State. The team’s next home game will be Oct. 9 against Southwest Adventist University, beginning at 4 p.m.
