Virginia Mary Webb, 85, returned to her heavenly home on October 5, 2015 after a valiant battle with her heart. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace as she passed from this earth from her home in Proctor, TX.

Virginia was born to the late Thomas and Stella Byrnes, a Santa Fe Railroad Yard Supervisor and homemaker respectively, in Colton, CA on September 28, 1930. She was immersed in her Catholic Community that would be her lifelong support from an early age. She was baptized as an infant and later confirmed her Catholic Faith by choosing her confirmation name, Theresa from St. Thérèse of Lisieux, and was from this that she garnered her devotion to serve as a Child of God from when she attended the Academy of the Little Flower at Mission San Luis Rey, CA. She was a very talented woman in communications amongst other skills and was sought out, graduating school in Barstow, CA, employed by utilities companies, telegraph operator for Santa Fe Railroad and then into the U.S. Navy.

Virginia was blessed with a beautiful family. She married her best friend John Richard Webb when they found each other in the U.S. Navy, where she served as a Wave and he as an Air Crewman. Virginia and John were married fifty-nine years, raising their four children, Phillip Anthony (Tony), Virginia Mary (Ginny), Thomas Richard (Tom) and John Raymond (Johnny) with patience, discipline and humility. She always said she was fortunate to travel with her family from coast to coast as she supported her husband in his career as a Navy Chief. As she settled in Proctor, TX, she continued her calling in her faith where she was active in all aspects of community service, including her teachings at her church of choice, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where her extended family continually grew with all those she encountered and her love for them as she considered each one as her own. From her beginning and to her end she was a wonderful mentor, encouraged all to explore the world as best they could and seek inner knowledge and peace from God and his teachings through Jesus Christ. Her namesake comes from the Virgin Mary and Virginia herself became a beautiful mother to all that were opportunistic to cross her path.

Virginia is survived by her husband, John; her sisters Rosemary and Grace, her brother Tommy; her daughter Virginia; her sons Thomas and John; her grandchildren Monica, Christopher, Virginia, John, Kourtney, Curtis, Denea, Savannah, Eric and Katy; and her great grandchildren Guy, Trentati, Zoe, Leo, Cotton, Reagan, Gavin, Landon, Kira, Scott, Addyson, Khloe, Serinity, Brian and Elvis. She is preceded in death by her sister Barbara; her son Phillip and her grandson Scott.
