ERATH COUNTY (October 19, 2015) — Halloween is almost here and we know you and your kids are perfecting that awesome costume for the special day. And now you’re wondering where the safest spot to take your little monsters.

Several local communities are hosting safe trick or treat events on Saturday, October 31, and others are having the in the week leading up to Halloween. Below The Flash Today has compiled a list of local safe, family-friendly spots to take your kids for trick or treating without the worry.

STEPHENVILLE

The Stephenville Chamber of Commerce will once again be hosting their annual Safe Trick ‘R Treating and costume contest in downtown Stephenville. This annual event is attended by more than 2,000 kids each year and the community comes out in force to make this event one of the best attended family-friendly events all year.

Downtown businesses are encouraged to set up right outside their storefront, or if they aren’t located near the square, spots are designated for them. Other Chamber members are invited to set-up along the downtown sidewalks to hand out goodies to the children as they “trick or treat”.

There is also a costume contest every year with all kinds of fun prizes and bragging rights. There are five age groups with five prizes per age group – Funniest, Cutest, Scariest, Most Creative & Best Homemade Costume. There will also be a prize for the Best Group.

This event is always a fun time for the kids and their parents and a great way for our members to promote themselves. We hope you will get involved in all the fun!

The Chamber is once again partnering with Timber Ridge Church to turn the Downtown Plaza into a hotspot for FUN!  If you are interested in setting up a booth featuring an activity or game for the children, please contact Jonathan Attaway at (254) 434-2507 or jonathan@timberridgechurch.com.
