TexAnns, Jimenez-Perea win Oklahoma Collegiate tourney

FORT SILL, Okla. (October 20, 2015) – TexAnn Golf won its second tournament of the fall after they carded a season-best 580 (+4) at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate that was played at the Fort Sill Golf Course.

Tarleton shot a 268 (-4) in the first round that led to them finishing the tournament 15 strokes ahead of second place Midwestern State.

The TexAnns held the top three spots on the individual leaderboard with Isabel Jimenez-Perea taking home the title for the first time this season with a score of 142 (-2). Jimenez-Perea shot a 2-under-par 70 in the first round and even par 72 in the final round. The senior from Cobena, Spain led all golfers with nine birdies for the tournament and now has three top 10 finishes in the four tournaments played.

Casey Wild finished one-under for a total score of 143 to finish in a two-way tie for second place with teammate Sarah Gee. It’s the best finish of the season for Wild, who shot a tournament best 4-under in the opening round. Wild recorded six birdies and 26 pars.

Gee climbed three spots with a second-round score of 70 to claim her best finish of the season. Gee shot a 143 (-1) for the tournament behind seven birdies and 23 pars.

Beatriz Prados finished in a three-way tie for 11th with a score of 152 (+8). Prados registered a team-best 26 pars in the two days and now has two top 20 finishes this fall.

Kerbey Kipp shot a 159 (+15) for a two-way tie for 32nd, her highest finish of the season. Kipp shot a season-best 76 in the opening round.

Tanner Wilson played as an individual in the tournament and shot a 182 (+38).

This was the final tournament of the fall season for the TexAnns. In the four tournaments, Tarleton won two titles and finished fourth and fifth in the other two.
