STEPHENVILLE- Funeral services for Ruth Boucher, 91, will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at 1:00 pm at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ward Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Stephenville Funeral Home.

Ruth was born October 5, 1924, in Erath County to Calvin C. and Vera Croft Winters. She graduated from Stephenville High School in 1942. She also attended school in Alexander, where she met her soul mate of 73 years, J.C. Boucher.
The two married April 25, 1942. Ruth and J.C. made their home on the family farm where they raised their 5 children.

Ruth was an active partner in the farming and ranching operations, tending cattle and harvesting cotton for many years. Ruth began her career outside the home in 1964. She worked at Montgomery Ward and Mitchell’s department store before embarking upon a successful 32 year career at Erath County Electric Co-op and its successor, United Co-op.

Ruth was a homemaker, extraordinary mother, beloved friend and coworker, and Nee Naw to her grandchildren. Ruth took great pride in caring for her family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a gifted seamstress, exquisite cook, and year-round gardener. One of her greatest pleasures was spending time with her family, especially teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren about all the joys and blessings of life.

Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stephenville since early childhood. She was a Christian who lived her faith. Ruth passed with her family by her side on Sunday, October 25, 2015.

Ruth is survived by her children, John C. Boucher, Jr. and wife Linda of Stephenville; Linda Stewart (Stephenville); Joyce Smith and husband Barton (Round Mountain); Kathy Cassidy and husband Marvin Coppock (Stephenville); and James Boucher and wife Rose (Stephenville) and by 12 grandchildren: Kim Boucher (Hico); Cheryl Boucher and husband Howard Rowe (London, England); Carole Boucher (New York City); Cathy Boucher (New York City); Christy and Paul Davis (London, England); Melanie and Eric Kibodeaux (Keller); Margaret and Mark Daily (Richardson); Leah and Trey Robertson (Breckenridge); Bart Smith (Stephenville); Stephanie and Jake Groth (Katy); Shauna and Nored Lane (Ralls); and Layne Cassidy (Austin), along with15 great-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren, and 1 step great-great-grandchild. Also surviving is her sister Martha Winters. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C., her parents Calvin C. and Vera Croft Winters, and sons-in-law Randy Cassidy and Phillip Stewart.

The family acknowledges Lisa Porter for 25 years of care.
