Driver who fled scene after crashing into Pizza Hut taken into custody

STEPHENVILLE (October 28, 2015) — The driver of a 2006 blue Nissan sedan who crashed into Pizza Hut on West Washington Street in Stephenville, fled the scene on foot and was later taken into custody at a residence on Groesbeck Street has been identified as Erica Rane Bowling, 20, according to a media release from Stephenville Police Lt. Doug McCLammy.

Reports indicate Bowling may have ran the stop light at the intersection of Dale and Washington before entering the parking lot and ultimately the building. Once in custody, Bowling was transported to the local hospital. One person was also transported from the scene to the hospital by Stephenville EMS, according to the release.

The Pizza Hut is closed and no timeline has been announced concerning its reopening.
