ERATH COUNTY (October 28, 2015) — It’s almost Halloween and with weather moving into the area this weekend, city officials in both Dublin and Stephenville have changed plans for safe trick or treating to keep your little monsters, princesses and pirates dry.

According to Stephenville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director July Danley, “due to the high chance of rain in the forecast for this Friday, the annual Safe Trick or Treat event has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 29, 5 – 7 p.m. on the Downtown Square and Plaza.”

The annual Safe Trick or Treat in Stephenville is a very popular event, bringing more than 3,000 local children out for candy and treats from chamber members and local organizations. The chamber hosts a costume contest for several different age divisions. Dress those kiddos up and come out Thursday evening for lots of fun on the Stephenville Square.

On your way to the square on Thursday, be sure to stop by the Senior Care Stephenville, located at 2601 NW Loop, beginning at 4 p.m. The first 200 trick or treaters and their escorts will get FREE sausage on a stick, chips, water and a cookie to take with them. The staff there said they were excited to help feed some of the kids before they head downtown to trick or treat.

While at Senior Care Stephenville, be sure to visit the residents who invite trick or treaters down the hallways. Staff officials said the residents are looking forward to handing out candy and goodies to all the children headed out to trick or treat.
