STEPHENVILLE (October 30, 2015) — The case grows against Erica Rane Bowling, the 20-year-old driver of the 2006 Nissan Altima that plowed through the front doors of Pizza Hut Wednesday morning.

According to Stephenville Police Lt. Doug McClammy, Bowling was involved in an accident in the 2100 block of W. Washington Street just prior to hitting the Pizza Hut building. Reports indicate Bowling Nissan did not stop after striking the other vehicle and continued west, through the red light at the intersection of Washington and Dale Streets and into the Pizza Hut parking lot, eventually striking the building.

While Stephenville Police continue to investigate, McClammy did confirm the car Bowling was driving was not stolen. He also said Stephenville investigators were working closely with the Erath County District Attorney’s Office.

Bowling fled the scene of the accident on foot, and was later found at a house on Groesbeck Street by Stephenville PD. She was transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Stephenville.

One patient was transported from the scene of the accident to the local hospital and was treated and released, according to an earlier report.

Pizza Hut was open again for business Thursday, serving delivery and takeout only.
