(November 9, 2015) — Dublin reached the area round of the Region I-3A volleyball playoffs after its second straight perfect run through district, and fittingly, dominated the all-district honors released Monday.

Dublin senior Joyce Volleman is the district newcomer of the year, junior middle Whitney Weems is blocker of the year and Lady Lion head coach Ryan Lewis, a Dublin native, is coach of the year.

All-district teams are determined by a vote of head coaches. The academic all-district honor is based on grade point average.

The all-district team was released Monday because Dublin was eliminated by Sonora in five sets Saturday in Sweetwater. The Lady Lions led 11-9 in the fifth before Sonora closed the match on a 6-0 run. Dublin has never advanced past the area round.
