STEPHENVILLE (November 24, 2015) — Gifford TV & Electronics is more than just TVs, and more than just household appliances.

Gifford is about hometown sales and service and giving back to its community.

And has been for 62 years.

“We’ve been in business since 1953, and we’re so blessed to be here in Stpehenville,” said Kenneth Gifford, who along with wife, Linda, mother Beverly, who helped establish the business in 1953, and a host of other family celebrated the complete renovation of their store with a Stephenville Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting Tuesday.

Chris Gifford, son to Kenneth and a salesperson at Gifford’s, spoke to technological advancements that have improved the merchandise they sell, all while chamber members spread across the new, more open floor space covered in washers, dryers, stoves, ranges, grills, refrigerators, and of course, televisions.

“TV has never been better. Six years ago everyone thought that was a s good as it could get, and now the resolution is four timers better,” said Chris Gifford, speaking of the ‘Curve,’ the new innovation in television. “It’s unbelievable what technology has done. If you’re into grilling, the advancements allow you to sear a steak on your grill in your backyard as well as you can find it at any restaurant.”

Service is key to the Gifford family.

“We’re about sales and service, not just sales,” Chris said. “We do the homework for you and sell dependable brands so that you can rest assured when you make a decision here it’s the right one. But if anything ever does go wrong, you just call us right here, and we’ll have a service technician come to your location.”

Chamber executive Director July Danley expressed the community’s appreciation of the Giffords.

“They support the community with more than just quality service. They give back in many ways,” Danley said. “We want to congratulate them on 62 years in business, that’s wonderful.”
