STEPHENVILLE (December 7, 2015) — EJ Reed is Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week, his third weekly honor from the conference office, league officials posted on Twitter Monday afternoon.

Reed, a senior forward from Mesquite, leads the LSC in scoring and is tied for the lead in rebounding. It’s his second weekly offensive honor to go with one on the defensive side. Reed had 25 points and 11 boards in a 97-46 thumping of Arlington Baptist last Tuesday, before going 9-11 from the floor for 25 points while snaring seven rebounds in a 82-73 win against Our Lady of the Lake on Saturday.

For the week, Reed shot 71 percent from the floor, going 17-24, and also knocked down 88 percent from the foul stripe, where he was 14-16.

The big week is nothing abnormal for Reed. He has been on point all season since coming on strong at the end of his junior campaign to help the Texans to the national semifinals and a modern era school-record 31 wins.

Reed is shooting 68 percent for the season including 50 percent from outside the arc and is also 80 percent from the line. He averages 22.3 points and nine boards.

The No. 9 Texans (7-1) have won three straight since their only loss of the young season. They welcome Texas-Permian Basin (UTPB) to Wisdom Gym at 7:30 p.m. next Monday, December 14.
