Hard work pays off for local youth at stock show sale

STEPHENVILLE (January 9, 2016) — The big sale to conclude the annual Erath County Junior Livestock Show was a big success Saturday evening at the Erath County Livestock Association Arena. Below you see all the grand and reserve champions that were purchased during the premium and floor auction to kick off the event. The “purchases” are actually donations, with the animals remaining in possession of the youth.

The family of Quincy Edwards was on hand at the sale, where their son, who passed away tragically in November. Edwards was heavily involved in FFA and the Erath County Junior Livestock Show. His two goats were shown by friends who also honored him during the show.

The grand champion from the medium wool light heavy weight class of lamb was shown by Kaitlin Chabot and purchased by Stephenville Evening Lions Club for $3,500.
