STEPHENVILLE (January 10, 2016) — The Tarleton State University cheerleaders and Texan Rider are helping local businesses in an effort to feed less fortunate university students.

EXIT Realty Holland & Associates are holding their second monthly Second Monday GIVE BACK from 4-7 p.m. today, January 11, at a home for sale located at 519 Spring Meadow. Barefoot Market is also part of the event, providing healthy refreshments for those in attendance.

All that’s necessary to attend is a donation to the Tarleton food pantry. After accepting hundreds of gloves and blankets for area senior citizens at its first Second Monday GIVE BACK in December, EXIT Holland Realty Associates is continuing the event on the second Monday each month throughout 2016, and the Tarleton food pantry is this month’s beneficiary.

“The goal is to pack the Tarleton food pantry with dorm friendly food,” says a release from EXIT Realty Holland & Associates.

So what exactly is dorm friendly food? Food that is non-perishable and can be prepared with little effort and supplies. Some includes pouches or cans of tuna or chicken, peanut and almond butter, fruit cups or cans that do not ned refrigeration, dried fruit, canned/microwavable soups, chili, rice and pasta, oatmeal and dry cereal.

The Second Monday GIVE BACK is a local initiative created by Joyce Holland, realtor/broker at EXIT Realty Holland & Associates. She hopes the initiative grows into something nationwide through EXIT Realty offices across America.

But for now, Holland and her associates are just glad to be giving back at home.
