Registration begins for local school boards’ May elections

ERATH COUNTY (January 19, 2016) – Dublin ISD and Stephenville ISD positions are up for reelection this spring. The first day to file to run for these positions will be Wednesday, January 20, and the final day to file for a spot on the election ballot will be Friday, February 19.

Early voting will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 25 – 29 and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 2 and 3. Election day is May 7 and citizens can vote from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Dublin County Annex or the Erath County Courthouse.

In Stephenville, the current school board president Dr. Ann Calahan’s position is up for election and vice president Scott Osman’s position is also up for election.

In Dublin, the school board’s vice president Pat Leatherwood and member Jimmy Holleman’s positions are up for election. Both incumbents are planning on running for re-election.

“They’re very excited to continue in the positive direction Dublin is going,” Dublin superintendent Dr. Rodney Schneider said.
