STEPHENVILLE (January 29, 2016) — Thursday a terrifying fire ripped through two homes at the Village Mobile Home Park off Washington Street in Stephenville. Stephenville Fire and Erath County Volunteers rushed to the scene, but not before the flames destroyed both houses and a vehicle, also killing a family dog.

Then, as the smoke settled and reality set in, the people of this community came together once again to help two families. And over the next few days, fundraisers will be set up, donations will be taken and the two families devastated by tragedy will endure thanks to the kindness of neighbors.

Now, as the Valerie Daniel and Aurturo Cerros and their families rebuild their lives, they need the continued assistance of their friends and family in the Stephenville community. According to both families, there are a number of children living in the two homes. Below you can find donation information for both families.

CERROS

Arturo Cerros, who manages the Jack in the Box in Stephenville, and his family lived in one of the trailers. In addition to losing their home, the Cerros lost their vehicle and the family’s dog in the fire. Jack in the Box has set up a donation bucket for the family and is also accepting donated items. • Mr. Cerros is the manager at Jack in the Box (the number is in the story), just give them a call to help that family. Valerie Daniels is the mother of the other family who lost their home, her number is also in the story above. Thank you so much for your kind, giving spirit!
