Hang out with Tarzan at Tarleton’s W.K. Gordon Center

STEPHENVILLE (February 16, 2016) — It’s action, romance and free refreshments at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, when Tarleton State University’s W.K. Gordon Center for Industrial History of Texas presents the 1932 film classic Tarzan the Ape Man.

Featuring Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O’Sullivan, the showing kicks off the center’s 2016 Night at the Opera series. The film is based loosely on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ novel Tarzan of the Apes, with the dialogue written by Ivor Novello. It was directed by W.S. Van Dyke and remade in 1959 and 1981.

There is no charge; however, seating is limited. Reservations are requested.

The W.K. Gordon Center, a Tarleton museum and research facility located in the historic ghost town of Thurber, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.
