STEPHENVILLE – Le’Nard Meyers earned national recognition for his work on the gridiron last fall after being named to the Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America Third Team Offense Tuesday morning.

This honor makes Meyers the 71st All-American in Tarleton’s football history as a senior college and the second over the last two seasons, joining Charles Moore who earned All-America status last season.

The All-America honor comes to Meyers, who has already received two all-region nods this offseason – including a second-team selection from the Don Hansen committee last month. He was the Lone Star Conference Receiver of the Year and a first-team all-conference selection after leading the LSC in receptions (75) and yards per game (103.4). He also led the league in touchdowns with 15 and is Tarleton’s all-time touchdown leader with 27 receiving scores in his four-year career.

The Don Hansen Division II All-America Team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at age 75 on Aug. 29, 2010. Hansen, from Brookfield, Ill., started and published Don Hansen’s National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.
