Stingerettes earn honors at Danceline Competition

STEPHENVILLE (February 17, 2016) – The Stephenville Stingerettes brought home multiple awards from last weekend’s competition at Liberty Hill.

As a team, the Stingerettes were awarded the Sweepstakes award and the Showmanship award for their team prop routine. The captains also earned a Sweepstakes award and won Best in Category for their contemporary routine. The Danceline staff at the competition also chose to award the Stingerettes the Congeniality award.

Plenty of individual dancers earned honors as well. Senior Kendyl Croft won the AJC Excellence Award and senior officer Allison Balder won second place in the toe touch technique challenge. Senior Kendyl Croft and sophomore Kelli Murphy earned Division One medals for their duet, and senior captain Elizabeth Afeman, junior captain Cassidy Balder, junior captain Maurie Dodson and senior head captain Shelby Sult all earned Division One medals for their solos.

The Stingerettes’ next competition will be on the 27 at The Colony. Congratulations, Stingerettes!
