(March 2, 2016) — Stephenville reached double digits in runs for the sixth time in seven games Tuesday night.

In fact, the Honeybees scored double digits in the second inning alone, when 12 runs crossed the plate in what ended as a 24-1 five-inning victory at Dublin. The Honeybees had 24 hits, but again committed three errors and again surrendered an unearned run.

It’s the second straight game Julia Flores has had no-hit stuff only to see the opponent score anyway. She fired a six-inning no hitter marred by errors and unearned runs in a 2-0 loss to Hillsboro in the final of the Honeybee Invitational last weekend.

But there is no questioning Stephenville is dangerous at the plate, where four different players – Kali Smith, Flores, Jessica Howell and Madison Gilder racked up four hits each. Howell had three doubles and a triple, driving in three runs and scoring three. Flores had four doubles, bringing five runs across the plate and scoring four herself.

Dublin issued six walks and committed three of its own errors. The Lady Lions produced just five hits and one walk against Flores, who struck out seven.
