Hettie Lou Harris Jackson, 94, of Bluff Dale, passed away, Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in Stephenville.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 19th at the Bluff Dale Baptist Church with Scott Pace officiating. Burial will follow at Glenn Cemetery in Bluff Dale. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, one hour prior to services, at Bluff Dale Baptist Church. Services are under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home.

Hettie Lou was born on July 6, 1921 in Bluff Dale to the late Alvin H. and Effie Maude Rhoades Harris. She married Layne Osborn Jackson on October 28, 1939 in Bluff Dale, a union of marriage lasting 64 years. Layne preceded her in death on December 13, 2002. Hettie Lou was raised in Bluff Dale, and lived over 60 years in Fort Worth. She taught over 16 years in Hurst, TX with the Birdville ISD as a Senior English Teacher, and retired in 2001 and moved back to Bluff Dale. Hettie Lou was a faithful member of the Bluff Dale Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, daughter, Elayne and husband Bobby Block of Bluff Dale, son, Larry and wife Linda Jackson of Arlington, and daughter, Cynthia and husband Don Brown of Bluff Dale; sister, Anna Watson of Bluff Dale; grandchildren, Trey Kuykendall, Teri White, Troy Jackson, Melanie Ducote, Erin Bushko, Travis Brown, Amy Gunning and Mark Block; great grandchildren, Colin, Kate, Taylor, Trip, Haylie, Ali, Samuel, Layne, Nolan, Ella, Savanna, Nate, Molly, and Katie.

Besides her parents and husband, Hettie was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Jaschke, and Rosie Baker; and by a granddaughter, Angela Kuykendall.

The Jackson family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the Bluff Dale Baptist Church, or Bluff Dale School, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
