STEPHENVILLE (March 31, 2016) — The brightest young rodeo stars from Region III of the Texas High School Rodeo Association are slated for competition Friday through Sunday at Lone Star Arena.

The Region III Finals begin with the first-go for junior high competitors at 7:30 p.m. Friday, with their second-go to follow at at 9 a.m. An awards ceremony will follow.

Attention turns to the high school competitors at 7 p.m., with the Senior Ride for graduating seniors, followed at 7:30 p.m. by their first go-round. A church service kicks off the Sunday morning activities at 8:30 a.m. The second-go begins at 10 a.m., with an awards ceremony to follow.

Competitors will be vying for berths into the state finals, slated for June 5-11 at Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene.The National High School Finals Rodeo is July 17-23 in Gillette, Wyoming for anyone placing int the top four of an event at the THSRA Finals.

Competitors even have the opportunity to participate in a dance, sponsored by Wrangler, following the Saturday night go-round.

High school events will take place in the following order in each go-round:

Bareback Riding

Saddle Bronc Riding

Bull Riding

Goat Tying

Steer Wrestling

Barrel Racing

Team Roping

Breakaway Roping

Calf Roping

Pole Bending
