TexAnns third, Texans fourth at David Noble Relays

SAN ANGELO (April 10, 2016) – Tarleton Track & Field competed at the David Noble Relays at Angelo State University over the weekend and came away with four first-place finishes.

In the final standings, the TexAnns finished third overall with 150.5 points while the Texans racked up 114 points for fourth place. Angelo State won the men’s and women’s team rankings.

On the women’s side, Tarleton’s 4×100-meter relay team of Deylinn Garrett, Ariel Ballard, Hollie Boyd, and Alexondria Brooks finished first in a time of 46.80.

Aly Coughlin won the 1500 meter, clocking a time of 4:45.42 while teammate Katelin Huckabee came in second in 4:49.42. Huckabee’s time of 18:15.79 in the 5000 meter gave her another second-place finish.

DeAijha Hicks-Boyce had a pair of second-place finishes on the day. Hicks-Boyce ran the 100-meter dash in 12.06 and the 200-meter dash in 24.55.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Tarleton’s Deylinn Garrett finished second (14.31) and Molly Money came in third (14.65).

Ande Carlton ran the distance events for Tarleton and came in third in two events: 800 meter (2:23.39) and the 1500 meter (5:21.13).

On the men’s side, Dalton Stidham won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 14.35. Cade Hitzfeldfinished in third in 14.76.

Chase Rathke gave the Texans a first-place finish in the 800 meter, running the event in 1:52.26.

Tarleton’s 4×100-meter relay (Blake Eschbach, Clarencio Guerrero, Randall Kadlacek, Gilson Umunnakwe) came in second in a time of 3:13.62. Umunnakwe also had a third-place finish in the 400 meters (48.40) and a fourth-place finish in the 200 meters (22.00).

Thorne Pettigrew came in second in the steeplechase, finishing the event in 10:08.71.

Tarleton will compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. on April 14-16 and the East Texas Invitational on April 16 in Commerce.
