Stephenville, TX – In its second year back, Rank Bull Mustachio Bull Bashio is bringing an action packed day full of bull riding, best mustache, best-dressed (best vintage bull hand style) and open mic contests to the Lone Star Arena.
Last year’s Mustachio Bull Bashio featured professional bull riders Pistol Robinson, Elliot Jacoby and Jory Markiss. Markiss will be back to defend his title this year. To enter the Mustachio, riders are required to have a mustache. No mustache, no bull! The best mustache (adult & kid), best-dressed and open mic contests are all open to the general public. With prize money reaching $300 for the best mustache contest last year, this years’ turnout is expected to grow. The open mic winner will be featured on Texas Homegrown Radio. Lead sponsor “Rank Bull” is a veteran owned and operated company. Proceeds from ticket and merchandise sales will go to help benefit the Erath County Veterans.
With the sport of bull riding evolving and gaining so much attention in mainstream media, organizers Nicole Jaffe and Cole Pierce aim to preserve the heritage of the old bull hand style of riding and competition.
“We just want to preserve the history of them (bull ridings) and have a good time in the process,” said Nicole Jaffe.
Founded by former pro bull rider Ladden Ledbetter and a few of his cohorts in 2011, Mustachio Bull Bashio was born at Billy Bobs Texas in the Fort Worth Stockyards. Three annual events and a one-year break later, Nicole Jaffe and Cole Pierce received Paige and Ladden Ledbetter’s blessing to bring the event back to life in Stephenville, TX.
Rank Bull Mustachio Bull Bashio will be taking place on May 6th at Lone Star Arena in Stephenville, Texas at 7:30pm. Tickets to the event are $15 and can be purchased at the gate or online at www.mustachiobullbashio.com where you can also purchase branded merchandise.
