MEMORIAL SERVICES: 1:00 pm. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Harrell Memorial Chapel in Dublin.

INTERMENT: Dallas – Ft.Worth National Veterans Cemetery.

MEMORIALS: Foster’s Home for Children – 1779 N. Graham St. in Stephenville, Texas.

Virgil Ray Yocom was born on May 31, 1943 in Seagraves, Texas. He went to be with his LORD on May 3, 2016 at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 3 days. He was the son on Charles Curtis Yocom and Geneva Inez (Williams) Yocom. He was united in marriage to Mary Sue Warren on June 18, 1965 in Odessa, Texas and to this union 2 children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife on May 23, 2012.

He is survived by his daughter – Trudy Sue Woody of Stephenville, Texas; his son – Curtis Ray Yocom of Azle, Texas; his brothers – Raymond Lawrence Yocom of Abilene, Texas and Jerold Wayne Yocom of Jacksboro, Texas; his sisters – Margie Sue Taylor of Odessa, Texas, Martha Lou Gilbert of Odessa, Texas and Carol Jean McLemore of Oklahoma City, OK.; and (6) grandchildren.

He retired from the U. S. Air Force with 20 years of service. He received the NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon with one bronze oak leaf cluster. AF Longevity Service Ribbon with three bronze oak leaf clusters. The National Defense Service Medal. Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze service star. Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. AF Outstanding Unit Award with two bronze oak leaf clusters. AF Good Conduct Medal with one silver oak leaf cluster. Meritorious Service Medal. AF Commendation Medal with 3 bronze oak leaf clusters.
