Lone Star meet under way at Tarleton

STEPHENVILLE – The Lone Star Conference Track & Field championships got under way on Thursday at Tarleton’s Memorial Stadium.

The first events were the heptathlon and the decathlon and the TexAnns had three athletes compete in the heptathlon.

After four events on the first day, Kamrynn Schiller is in fourth place with 2,833 points. Schiller ran the 100-meter hurdle in 15.04, cleared the bar in the high jump at 5′ 3″, recorded a distance of 31′ in the shot put, and ran the 200-meter dash in 26.35.

Macen Stripling is in eighth place 2,599 points and ran the 100-meter hurdles in 15.33, cleared 4′ 11.5″ in the high jump, tossed 30′ 4.75″ in the shot pot, and finished the 200-meters in 27.30. Robbie Clarke (2,139 points) is in 14th place with times of 14.88 in the 100-meter hurdles and 25.54 in the 200-meters. In the field events, Clarke recorded 28′ 5.5″ in the shot put.

The second day of events will begin with the decathlon at 10:30 a.m. and the heptathlon at 11:10 a.m. on Friday. Field events start at 2 p.m. and running events at 6 p.m.

The running events on Friday and Saturday will be streamed free of charge through TarletonSports.com.
