STEPHENVILLE (May 10, 2016) – Leander native Baylee Peck is coming back to the Lone Star State as the 5-7 point guard is set to don the Purple and White of TexAnn Basketball this fall.

Peck returns to Texas after a two-year stint with NCAA Division I member of the Mountain West Conference, Utah State. She played in 25 games for the Aggies over the last two seasons and was named the recipient of the USU Joe E. and Elma Whiteside Scholar-Athlete Award.

“Baylee is an outstanding young woman and we are excited to add a player of her caliber to our junior class,” said head coach Misty Wilson. “Baylee has a true point guard mentality and is the type of player that can and will make the players around her better. She truly has a mind for the game of basketball and her understanding will go a long way in helping this team.

“In addition to being a great player on the court, Baylee is the epitome of a student-athlete,” she continued. “She is diligent about taking care of her class work. We have heard nothing but praise about Baylee as a player, person, and teammate. We cannot wait to have her here and see what she will do for us in the next two years.”

Peck signed with Utah State in November 2013 in the midst of a standout career at Rouse High School in Leander.

At Rouse High School, Peck was a three-time first-team all-district selection and earned District MVP and first-team all-state honors as a senior. She was twice named to the Central Texas Dazzling Dozen and a four-time academic all-district selection. In addition to her success with Rouse High School, Peck’s club team, AD Elite, won the 16U United World Games and finished third in the Boo Williams Tournament.

Peck joins Mackenzie Hailey as the second NCAA Division I transfer of the recruiting class. She also becomes the seventh member of the class alongside Hailey, Trejouir Wilson, Reann Hall, Hannah Allen, Kylie Collins, and Lanie Roberts.
