Jackets win pool, fall in state tournament qualifier

Stephenville came one win short of qualifying for the state 7-on-7 football tournament in its first attempt Saturday, dropping the play-in game, 45-36, to Waco Reicher. The Yellow Jackets won their pool, defeating Glen Rose 25-19, Gatesville 44-20 and Dublin 47-33. Dublin also lost to Gatesville 44-20, and to Glen Rose 27-13. Pool play was in Gatesville for Stephenville and Dublin. The rest of the tournament, including Stephenville’s loss to Reicher, was played in McGregor.
