Stephenville- Services for Donald Gene Morrison, 73, who died Friday, June 10, 2016, and retired from Tarleton State University with 50 years of service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, June 13, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Stephenville with Rev. Ken May officiating and Rev. Don Kirklen assisting. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Lacy Funeral Home.
Gene was born in Stephenville, Texas, on September 4, 1942, to John Hall and Edith Morrison. He married Pat Harvey on November 2, 1963, in Stephenville, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Stephenville and a member of the First Baptist Church in Stephenville. Gene was a volunteer with the Fire Department in Stephenville for 25 years and a reserve deputy for the Erath County Sheriff Department since 1986. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club as well as the Tarleton Amateur Radio Club.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Morrison of Stephenville, Texas; children, Robert Hall Morrison of Stephenville, Texas, and Donna Jean Kirklen and husband, Benjamin, of Dublin, Texas; one grandchild, Christopher Kirklen; and a niece Judy Kelly of Austin, Texas.
