STEPHENVILLE (June 10, 2016) – Misty Wilson wrapped up her summer recruiting efforts for the 2016-17 season with the addition of Killeen High School star, Ke’Aunna Johnson.

“Ke’Aunna is a player that can truly play at any spot on the floor,” said Wilson. “She is an excellent defender and really takes pride in guarding opponents. Her athleticism and size gives her an advantage all over the floor.

“She is a true competitor that will really make an impact in her four years here,” continued Wilson. “She has an easy personality and is a wonderful young woman that is extremely focused on success on and off the floor. I look forward to coaching her and seeing the impact she has at Tarleton State and in the Stephenville community.”

Johnson comes to Tarleton after starring on the court at Killeen High School for the past two seasons, leading the Lady Roos to back-to-back district championships and their first regional tournament appearance in 24 years.

She is a two-time All-Area and District 12-6A Defensive Player of the Year and averaged over 13 points and seven rebounds per game over the last two years. As a senior, she was also named to the TABC All-Region II-6A team while earning All-Area Co-MVP honors. She shot .560 from the floor as a junior with 14.2 points per game and shot .630 from the floor as a senior with 13.6 points per game.

Johnson becomes the eighth member of Wilson’s recruiting class, joining NCAA Division I transfers Bailey Peck and Mackenzie Hailey as well as high school standouts Trejouir Wilson, Reann Hall, Hannah Allen, Kylie Collins, and Lanie Roberts.
