William Bruce Tapp, 63, was born in Decatur Texas, on July 17, 1952. A memorial will be held at Clairette Bible Church from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., where he was a member. Austin Tapp will be officiating the services.

William Tapp also known as Bill, Pecos Bill, or Wild Bill to his close friends was born and raised in Decatur during his early childhood years. Bill was a father, grandfather, uncle, and brother. He attended middle school and high school in Pecos, Texas. Bill was employed at Southern Pacific Railroad Company in West Texas during his early eventful youth. Bill was a member of his local church in Clairette. Never a man with a bigger heart, who loved his family more than Bill Tapp. Wild Bill could always be heard singing his favorite song or playing his favorite rock song or hymn on the guitar. Everyone who met Bill Tapp has a story to tell that can make you smile and laugh.

Survivors include his children, Austin Tapp and wife, Myra, of Little Elm, and Stacey Tapp of Pecos; grandchildren, Kiley, Caleb, Josh, and Hunter Tapp of Little Elm, and Austin Garcia of Pecos; sisters, Teresa of Odessa, and Paulette Lawrence of Post. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Virginia of Pecos, his sister, Diane McKenna of Pecos, and his brother, Bryn of Pecos.
