DUBLIN (July 1, 2016) – The Double N Cowboy Church is gearing up to celebrate its tenth anniversary with a full weekend of fun. The celebration will begin with a dance on Friday, July 8, will host games, a barbecue cook-off and more on Saturday, July 9 and will end with a church service and lunch on Sunday, July 10.
“It’s going to be a great weekend- lots of family activities that are planned,” pastor Jimmy Holleman said. “Lots of family fun. It’s going to be a great time celebrating how God has blessed us.”
The dance will be in the sanctuary of the Double N Cowboy Church from 7-11 p.m. and will be free to the public. Bands and artists featured will be Layne Golden, the Gary Morris Band, Bobby Breaux, the Al Hirt Band, Dale Morris Jr., the Ray Price Band, Ryan Hurt, the Johnny Lee Band, Roger Ramsey and the Larry Gatlin Band.
On the ninth, the barbecue cook off will begin at 8 a.m. and judging will be at 4 p.m. Competitors can enter brisket, pork spare ribs or chicken. The cost is $20 per meat or all three meats for $40. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first through third place winners in each category, and there will be a showmanship award.
The barbecue dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will cost $7 per plate.

In addition to the cook off, the Double N Cowboy Church is hosting a mini rodeo for adults and children. At 7 p.m. mutton bustin’ will begin for children six and under. The event costs $20. After the mutton bustin’, mini broncs will begin for children 12 and under. The event costs $40 to enter. Prizes will be awarded in each category.
After mini broncs end, the Extreme Cowboy Challenge will finish off the rodeo. There will be penning, mugging and doctoring happening at the same time. The cost is $500 per team, and there is space for 20 four man teams. There will be a 60 percent payback.

Besides the rodeo, there will be other activities for kids such as Dragsteer roping and a water slide.
On the ninth, the Double N Cowboy Church will also host a shooting tournament with three events and a cowboy shoot bonus, beginning at 9 a.m. The cost will be $20 per shooter. A portion of the fee will help provide for the children’s camp fee.
There will be a rifle round with five rounds each at 100 meters and 200 meters with a one minute time limit. The shotgun round will be a mix of three thrower types and will have no time limit. Also there will be a pistol round with five shots at five, ten and fifteen meters with a one minute time limit. Prizes will be awarded to the top three shooters in each category and the top three overall shooters.
