STEPHENVILLE (July 22, 2016) – TexAnn Tennis was named to the 2016 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team for recording a team GPA of at least 3.25 during the 2016 season.
Individually, Elena Preadca, Erika Richarme, and Ellie Stevens were selected as ITA Scholar Athletes for earning a GPA of 3.5 or higher. In addition to their academic success, Preadca had a singles record of 12-6 and a double record of 14-7, while Richarme went 15-6, 16-5, and Stevens went 11-7, 10-10 during the 2016 spring season.
“Congratulations to the team and young ladies as this is always an outstanding accomplishment for our program both as a team and individually,” said head coach Lance Drake. ” I am so proud of not only the present, but the former student-athletes in our tennis family who have earned this award. These honors demonstrate our continued efforts to keep our educational and athletic goals in proper perspective. They all work hard to achieve success both off and on the court. I believe the Tarleton Tennis program has earned this award 13 times during the last 15 years.”
