STEPHENVILLE (July 31, 2016) — Kade Averhoff tossed a complete-game shutout and Texas Clutch scored five runs in the first inning to knock off JC Baseball, 6-0, in a tournament championship at James T. Young Baseball Field Sunday afternoon.

Averhoff’s effort proved to be the second complete-game shutout by the Clutch. Caleb Gibbons pitched an abbreviated shutout when the Clutch beat Cowtown Outlaws, 8-0, on Saturday. The Clutch also defeated the Bandits, 2-1, on Saturday, and opened Sunday play by knocking off JC Baseball, 9-6, before ending up in a rematch against the same opponent in the championship.
