STEPHENVILLE (August 2, 2016) – The Stephenville High School Yellow Jacket Band started their two-a-day practices this week.
This year’s halftime show will be called “Nevermore” and is based on Edgar Allen Poe. Head Band Director Mike Childs said it would be a little different show from past years with a darker theme.
The entire band was out on the practice field bright and early including Mike Childs (known as Mr. C), Andrew Nance (Associate Director of Bands), Chris Conway (HJH Band Director) and Michel Wimberly (Percussion Director). This year’s drum majors are Caden Goodman and Calvin Jones.
The marching band appears to be approximately 120 members strong and two-a-days practices will continue the rest of the week. As it gets closer to the beginning of the school year, the practices will change to one evening practice a day.
