(September 9, 2016) — Two weeks, two races, two Stephenville wins.

The Yellow Jackets were the fastest team at a cross country meet in Keene Saturday, putting another title on the back of their 4A and below victory at Burleson a week prior.

The Honeybees also had another strong outing, coming in second Friday, while the junior varsity Bees captured first.

Stephenville’s boys against used a pack running mentality to cruise to the win. Lane Rust led the way in fifth on the 4,800-meter course, finishing in 17 minutes, 24.12 seconds. He was followed shortly by teammates Christian Brown in seventh, Gilberto Garcia eighth and Luis Carrillo ninth, but they were sixth, seventh and eighth among runners on full teams. Rounding out the scoring was Gustavo Vazquez in 28th individually and 26th among team runners.

Elena Balderas was 12th, Mattie Stephens 14th and Avery Forehand 24th to round out the scorecard. There were some non-team runners between, and Stephenville finished with 61 points.
