STEPHENVILLE (September 10, 2016) – The Stephenville Music Club celebrates turns 83 this year. The club is led by Club President, Larry Parham, and they meet the second Thursday of each month at the First United Methodist Church in Stephenville, located at 422 W. Washington Street, from noon to 1 p.m. Visitors and potential new members are welcome to attend.
This month’s program was presented by Tim Turnbeaugh and the title was “Whatever happened to Art Garfunkel?”
Tim gave a brief history and bio on Mr. Garfunkel and then Tim personally performed several of Art’s more popular songs. Some of the ladies in the club shared their talents and beautiful voices in performing a song or two as well.
The October Stephenville Music Club meeting will be held on October 13. The program will be presented by Paul Pendleton and the musician to be discussed will be Keely Smith. Come join the fun, and if you are lucky, you might get to taste some of Jean Carr’s delicious fried okra. By the way, this year the club yearbook is dedicated to Jean Carr.
