STEPHENVILLE (September 16, 2016) — Stephenville needed just three sets and hardly more than an hour to dispose of Alvarado Friday afternoon.
The Honeybees won their fourth straight match – their third straight to start 8-4A district play – 25-12, 25-14, 25-12, at Gandy Gym.
The victory sets the stage for a showdown of 8-4A co-leaders when Glen Rose visits Stephenville at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Stephenville trailed the first set 5-1, then scored 28 of the next 35 points, including four straight with Hailey Martin serving at the start of the second set.
Stephenville led the second throughout and trailed just once – 1-0 – in the third.
The Bees were paced by Nicona Stilwell with 10 kills and four blocks, Taylor Garber with 12 assists and Hailey Martin with nine digs.
