CELEBRATION OF LIFE AND HOPE: Noon on Saturday, October 1st at Harrell Memorial Chapel in Dublin.
James Richard Stevens went to be with his LORD on September 20, 2016 at his home in Burnet, Texas at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 9 day. He was born February 11, 1935, the son of Kenneth Stevens and Clara (Pettit) Stevens in Dublin, Texas. He was united in marriage to Janette Morgan on November 20, 1958 in Corpus Christi, Texas and to this union 3 children were born. He was preceded in death by one son, Toby.
James is survived by his wife, Jan Stevens of Burnet, Texas; his daughters – Jamie Stevens of Granbury, Texas and Connie Cole of Austin, Texas; his grandchildren – Jessie Cole, Jeremy Cole and Gary Stevens: and was a foster parent to numerous babies and young children; and numerous nieces, nephews & other relatives who will miss him dearly
James was a Valedictorian of Dublin High School in 1958, graduate of Texas A&M – Corp of Engineers as a Distinguished Military Student; a retired manager for Ducks Unlimited Wild Life Reserve; and a member of the First United Methodist Church; and he loved to fish, hunt and watch football.
