Erickson’s 3.6 rules the morning in steer wrestling

Editor’s note: The 47th annual Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo completed its slack rounds Friday. Below is a steer wrestling recap from rodeo committee member Ben Clements:

The Steer Wrestling at the Cowboy Capital of the World Pro Rodeo started strong as Josh Peek from Pueblo, Colorado took the early lead with a time of 3.9 seconds.  He had a comfortable lead until Ty Erickson from Helena, Montana posted a time of 3.6 seconds and took over the number one position.  Jason Thomas from Benton, Arkansas moved to the second place position with a time of 3.7 seconds.  Dirk Tavenner from Rigby, Idaho then made a move into the number three position with a time of 3.8 seconds.

The CCPRA Rodeo will resume tonight at 7PM with the first performance.  It will be American Hero night at the rodeo and will feature an awesome opening, so be in your seats at 7PM.  If you cannot make it to the rodeo you can listen live to the Rodeo Radio Broadcast with the Texas Home Grown Radio App.  It is a free ap, so download today to keep up.
