STEPHENVILLE (September 23, 2016)- Dwelling Place Ministries will host a benefit dinner, auction and concert with Luke Wade on Oct. 6 at City Hall at City Limits. Money raised will go to support the Christian Women’s Job Corps.

“[Christian Women’s Job Corps provides] job and life skills training for women 18 and older who need to get the skills needed to help them move forward in having a better future for them and their families,” volunteer coordinator Sue Owens said.

Doors open at 6 p.m., dinner is served at 6:30 and the concert begins at 7:30. The live auction will be held in between Wade’s sets, and the silent auction will take place throughout the evening.

Items at the auction include a Yeti cooler, a quilt created by the CWJC and surrounding churches, several art pieces, coupons and gift certificates.

“We’ve got a good mix of items,” Owens said.

Jon Young will open for Wade, who will play an acoustic set.

Tickets are available at Dwelling Place Ministries, the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, Higginbothams, the First National Bank in Dublin, the Stephenville Chamber of Commerce, Interbank and First Financial Bank in Stephenville. There are $75 VIP meal and concert tickets as well as $50 meal and concert tickets available through Wednesday. Concert-only tickets will be available for $30 through Oct. 5.

“There are eight different classes [women can take],” Owens said. “We also provide free daycare for these ladies, so there are some expenses with that. We also have the cost of paying for our building and any repairs. We are also trying to move forward in securing another building for classes. That’s one of our longer-term goals.”
