Stephenville wins in three at Midlothian Heritage

(September 27, 2016) — Taylor Garber tallied 21 assists, seven kills, four blocks, four digs and two aces in just three sets as Stephenville cruised past host Midlothian Heritage, 25-21, 25-22, 25-21, in 8-4A district volleyball action.

Senior middle Nicona Stilwell had eight kills, four digs and three blocks for Stephenville, while Jayci Morton added seven kills and three blocks. Emily Brandon added five kills and two blocks.

When Garber wasn’t setting, Hannah Huckabee took her turn quarterbacking the offense with 11 assists. Leading the defense was Hailey Martin with 28 digs, while Maren Isham and Kylee Ponder each added 11.

Stephenville, which stands alone in second place in 8-4A, is hosting a White Out when Brownwood visits Gandy Gym at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
