VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home from 6:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, October 14.
Ernest Grady Reed, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in Comanche.
He was born on November 16, 1934, in Comanche County, Texas, to George and Lula Mae (Drennan) Reed. On June 20, 1953, he was united in marriage to Billie Jean Hicks in Comanche. Grady was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a farmer/rancher and worked at Arthur Chevrolet. He was a member of Sidney Baptist Church.
Grady is survived by his daughters, Sherry Ward and friend Merrill McRimmon of Comanche; Rita Griffin and husband James of Early; sons, Randy Reed and wife Debra of Comanche; Dan Reed of New Braunfels, and Rex Reed and wife Tammi of Sidney; brothers, Travis Reed and wife Bobbie of Odessa; Clinton Reed of Midland; and Mansel Reed and wife Carolyn of Stephenville; sisters, Pearl Swofford of Monument, CO and Christine Steed and husband Bud of DeLeon; eleven grandchildren – Jason Ward, Josh Ward, Koda Reed, Trey Ross, Bo Ross, Dacia Griffin, Travis Griffin, Sheena Rimato, Daniel Griffin, Michelle Overson, and Teresa Overson; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean Reed and a brother, Cecil Reed.
